Don’t give up…be encouraged!

Light your world

Let the word of God shine through you

In the little things you do

Light your world

Though your light may be

reaching…

Only two or three

Light your world !!!

Hi guys,

So I was in church the other day and we sang this song. While singing, I got a “take home message” from the song and I thought to share it with you guys.

I remember when I wanted to start my blog (I remember it too well, probably because I started blogging quite recently; just over a month ago), I was initially
hesitant to start. I was asking myself questions like ‘what if people don’t read it’, ‘what if people don’t subscribe’, ‘what if people close to me (friends and family) see it and make a mockery of it’, ‘what if…this’, ‘what if…that’.

*I usually do not care so much about peoples opinion, but this was different. To me, a blog is quite personal, especially if you are not an anonymous author. And I always believed and told people I am a private person (I think I still am though)*

So, I found a thousand and one reasons not to start this blog, but then I mustered courage to go against all odds and begin writing. Cos’ who knows perhaps one article may cause a difference in someone’s life. It doesn’t have to be an inspirational piece, it could be something funny that got him/her out of that bad mood, a personal experience that the person could relate to and feel better about himself/herself, basically it could be anything. I told myself that even if it were just a few people that I can reach, I would still write. And I may not know how or when but with determination and of course passion, I would reach more people.

So, if you are currently invested in something (anything at all) and you think its not fruitful or its not producing results the way you want it to. Work harder…keep at it. You might not see the results now, but don’t give up and surely, with time, it would come to full bloom.

If you have read the post on ‘my natural hair journey’, you would realize that I could have given up and I would not have the healthy hair I have and LOVE today.

These things happen to the best of us, we keep to ourselves and are afraid to take risks because we don’t know the end result…but what if everything ends up fine, would it not be worth it? Yes, so step outta your comfort zone, take that risk, see the bigger picture, work towards it. And you would come out victorious.

Take counsel of like minded and positive people, don’t let the ‘haters’ talk you down. Ignore those that say you can’t make it, focus on the task ahead. In addition to all these, spread positivity to those around you. Encourage them! There is a reason why sayings like “you reap what you sow” and “what goes around comes around” still exist.

Finally, always remember to put God first. Matthew 6:33 says “…be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God and with what He requires of you, and He will provide you with all these other things (GNB).

P.S. This post might have been better as a video don’t you think. Maybe a YouTube video? That way I could have expressed myself better and also said a lot more than I have now. That being said, I’m currently working something out. Will keep you updated.

Let me know your thoughts on this post in the comment section. Also feel free to share your experience or words of encouragement with other readers by leaving a comment.

Same time next Saturday *winks*

With Love…💋
